I know there's a general rule about how many fish, in inches per fish, you should have per gallon in your tank. Generally speaking, what is a safe amount? I want to make sure I'm not over-crowding...

I hope someone knows what I mean...

Thanks,

go to the article section, there is an article discussing this. The problem is, gallons are a 3 dimensional measure and the length of a fish is 2 dimensional. That is, 10 1" fish are not as much mass as 1 10" fish. Finding the mass of a fish is kinda tough. That article will help you further with your question.

If your looking for help stocking your tank.. give us a list of fish specie preferences you have and the size of tank you have and I am sure someone could help you get a nice tank going and have healthy fish as well :).
