How many fish?

The 'shark' could grow too big for this tank, but the overall stocking level sounds okay. I would judge from the water quality and the behaviour of the fish over some time as to whether you could add a few more fish.

HI
i've found this site to calculate the volume in my aquarium and with the measurement of my tank 30"x13x15 it says 94ltrs (19gal uk or 25gal us) so i was 5gals out!
I now have in there:
8 neons
6 glowlights
6 harlequins
4 octocinclus
and my redtail shark
Is this too much as they're all small except the shark?
I am getting a bigger tank for my shark just cant afford it yet:headshake2:
Thanks Dan H

I wouldn't add any more, and definitely re-home the shark soon.

Hi there: I just thought I'd add that figuring out how many fish can go in a tank doesn't have black and white kind of answer. There's not only the size of the fish, but their bioload, their habits, and also how obsessive you are about keeping the water pristine. I've seen understocked tanks that were filthy and overstocked ones that looked great. Also, how big the fish are now is different from what they will be full-sized.........It's a good idea to err on the side of understocking.........frogdog
