I'm all for switching the US to metric, it would make calculations on thing so much easier. It would take a little getting used to, but in the end it would be easier. BTW, the tank the OP posted would be 117 liters. Right on the conversions link at the top toolbar.

yeah... like salt dose is 1 to 2 grams per litre...

saves a lot of teaspooning

Some people resist change so much that we will probably never see a true conversion. In the meantime, automobiles and food are mostly using metric measure. Common other products are based on the US version of the old imperial system of measure but fluid ounces, pints, quarts and gallons do not match the imperial system at all except that there are 4 quarts to the respective gallon in either system. I find it a sorry state but have lived with it a long time now myself.
