What one other thing? To change things up a bit you could get several shrimp to help clean the bottom. They also have very interesting antics.

Sammie7, I am sorry to inform you of this, but dwarf gouramis do fine if paired in a tank.

If they are paired male to female possibly, it would still depend on the individual fish. The male might harass the female. Most dwarf gouramis found in stores are male. Thus, it would probably be safe to say the person asking whether this would work or not was refferring to two males.

What can I have with a dward gourami and six cardinal tetras in a 10g? I would prefer something that is like a fish and moves, like not a shrimp or something.

I would say nothing other than a few bottom feeders, to keep the bioload low. Perhaps a small group of catfish 3 or 4. You would have to get the small ones though as a 10 gallon tank doesn't afford a lot of ground room. The only other small fish I can think of are schooling fish. How do you like:

You could probably do 3, but only if you dont want many other fish. Cory Cats highly prefer to be in schools of 3 or more.

6 cardinals and 1 dwarf gourami is about as much as a 10 gallon can handle. Maybe a snail, or a couple of small shrimp, but no more fish.

I woul dhave to agree. If you want panda corys, you can get three, but no gouramis. 5 Cardinals and 3 Panda Corys might be nice...
