How many is a "school" of fish.

Thanks RTR,

I have two Endler's and they chase each other all day. They remind me of that Star Trek episode where the guys were black and white on each side but one guy's colors were reversed. You know, where they were trying to kill each other. I thought that maybe by adding a third male that they might mello out some. Not really a schooling question but more of an aggression question. I agree that a school should be much larger, at least 6.

My co-worker says in environmental science he was taught that a school is 12 or more, technically speaking...

Well, this is an old thread :)

However, I agree with you DeputyChiefJr. I try to keep all my rainbowfish in large schools of 12-16. Those that I have smaller schools of are ones that I am breeding to make bigger schools :)

IMO if you don't have the space for a large school of x fish, then don't get that fish.

I think I'll get a 200g tank and just fill it with Millennium rainbowfish. Man, I could get a HUGE amount in there :)
