Yes, but be ready to give it a serious wash before dumping it in the tank, I'd use pool filter sand instead, minimal washing and a bigger grain size, won't stay suspended in the water as much as a playsand.

If you have the extra money go with the brand names.. some of those play sands are nasty stuff..
