How many otocinclus in 10g

Hm, I take it out after about 12 hours. I keep reading posts where people are saying you don't put food in the tank for more than 12 hours.

I heard the same thing, but I didn't experience any problems at 24 hours. If you go too far past that, though, things can get messy. Once I forgot a piece of zucchini for almost 2 days, and it dissolved into zucchini pudding when I tried to pick it up

Anyway, I used to supplement with veggies once per week, and I would drop the food in the day before my weekly water change. That way, I could make sure the tank was clean after having had food sit in it over night.

The otos do attach themselves to the blanched zucchini occasionally, but they don't really eat it. If anyone, the cherry barbs tear it up really well. I'll keep this one piece of veggie in the tank for 12 hours.

My otos didn't always appear to be eating the veggies, either. They'd just kind of sit on them :) But I figured they were taking bites every so often.

Yeah, you're right. It's probably not bad to keep veggie in there for a day. When people feed these algae or veggie wafers, do you break it up for the otos? If so, how small do you break it up?
