How many otocinclus would you recommend for my 5 gallon? it has a fair bit of alage growing all over the glass. I was thinking 2 would do the job.

The bristlenose should take care of most of the algae but even then you'll still have to use a scrubber to get the base of the algae off the glass.
How long do you leave the lights on for? Maybe try a few hours less.

The BN and dwarf will be moved to my 35 gallon once I can find I home for my electric blue which will probably be tomorrow as i'm seeing if the pet store will take it.

I have found that it takes about a 10 gallons densely planted to sustain 1 oto without frequent supplimental feeding. Even then you may need to feed it about once a month to add to what it is getting from the tank surfaces. Let it's activity level guide you in when you need to feed it. A well fed oto is doing something a majority of the time, if it is stationary more than half the time you may need to feed it a little.

One oto is more than enough, but may be lonely. They like company. You will be amazed at how much these little guys eat. Mine love zucchini.
