How many people does it take to carry 90 & 100g tankss?

Yeah, that's what my parents said when I said I could help them carry my 65g (weighs 126 lbs).
Wow, how do some of you move big tanks on your own? I can barely life one side of a 55 that weighs 78 lbs! (granted I do only weigh 100lbs) Do you use some sort of cart?
Its great to hear that its not that hard to move tanks. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get a 100g just because I wouldn't have anyway of carrying it into the house.
I don't know, I haven't got either of them. I plan on getting them off craigslist so they'll probably be glass because they seem to be more popular.
I used to move 90 gal AGA and Perfecto tanks by standing them on end, squatting down and leaning my shoulder into the bottom glass just below the midpoint. Grab the top of the tank, and rock it back onto your shoulders and stand up in one motion. I'm 5'11" and at the time I wieghed about 165 so it's not really a matter of brute force so much as technique. Now Oceanic 90's were another matter altogether, at least for me. But if you really want to move a tank by yourself use a refrigerator dolly. I moved a 210 up two flights of steps with one by myself about a year ago, and I'm an old man!
Moved a 190 four times, a 180 once, a 150 once, a 120 once and a 90 a few times. All of which were done with just two people and the 90 was very easy. If the 55 I have now was shorter it would have been a waste to have two people move it.
:thumbsup: I'm not 5'11" more 5'4" but weigh 200(20+years bodybuilding and power lifting helped me)
I used to borrow a creeper (mechanics lay on them when they have to slide under cars) to move tanks. It doesn't help with stairs getting through doorways but it made the rest of it a lot easier. I am sure there are other options as well. It might take more time to find them, but keep in mind, in addition to keeping the aquarium safe you also want to keep the people who are helping safe. It might take a couple of extra hours to find something with wheels but it might take weeks for someone to recover from a torqued back because the weight of the aquarium shifted on them. Many dollies actually come with 2 additional wheels near the top of the handle so that it can be lain on the ground and will work like a wagon. U-haul rents these for $10 a day. Also, maybe a couple of skateboards would do the trick. I also had a reinforced 3/4" piece of plywood I would put them on (plywood reinforced with 2x4's) so that any stress was applied to the plywood.
