Tank size: 105 gallons, 4' wide, 24" tall, 18" deep

The main return pump says model 9.5 on it. I can't find the brand name. Came with the system when it was given to us.

I have 1 Hydor Koralia 2 on the right side and 1 Koralia 4 on the left side. Is this enough? I'm considering replacing the 2 with another 4. Or would it be even better to keep the 2 and add in another 4?

Thanks!

I have a Koralia 3 on each side of a 37 gallon!! Maybe I'm doing overkill. My fish and shrimp seem fine. I have been having coral problems lately but that was the result of a water change I think. My LFS recommended the two Koralia #3's. They've been pretty right with everything so far. If I judge from what they told me - you need more, or just more powerful.

I would say your a little under on the needs for flow. Taking the two powerheads into concideration, and not return pump ( i dont class the return pump when calculating flow ), your up to 1800gph...I would suggest you need more like 2600gph in a tank of your size..

Just my opinion of course :)

48" x 24" x 18" is the standard sizing for a 90g, which is the size tank we have set up as a reef. Regardless, I would keep the #2 and at least add another #4. We have two #4s and a MJ 1200 and I feel we could use some additional flow in our tank.

ahhh, you sent me off hunting for a tape measure! I had to check because I know we were told 105 gallons by the people who gave it to us. It's 28" tall. My bad. But, my sand bed is like 4" deep, so only 24" of water, I guess. ;-)

Sounds like I need another K4!

The type of corals you plan to keep will determine the flow that you need. Mixed,LPS SPS or Zoas could all require different amounts of flow.

To recommend "x" gph flow is a bit pointless with out knowing the full story and could cause more harm than good.

I disagree....there is no coral which can have harm caused by having 25 x water circulation per hour in the respective tank size...This level of flow i deem to be a minimum...

Not overkill by any means. I have one modded Tunze Stream 6100 (~4500 gph), (4) modded Tunze nanostream 6025 (~1200 gph each), plus a mag 12 for a return (probably ~7-800 gph)--all this in a standard 75. That adds up to around 10000 gph in the tank, or 133x tank turnover.

Right now I'm running 2 maxijet 1200 on my 55G reef. But becuase I'm upgrading to a 90G I'm have 2 #3 koralias and 2 maxijet 1200 with mod-upgrade.
