Availabilty and pricing is going to be a factor. Praecox would be the best option IMO. I think Mg still has some threadfins and others though, no? However those arent really the classic bow shaped fish.

I have threadfins in my 28 gallon and love them. :grinyes: They do have more of a bow shape than some of the other smaller rainbows. This one is not my picture...mine won't stay still long enough to get such a nice shot!

No problem! I do what I can. I recommend Praecox rainbows as well. They're small, pretty, and will typically breed in the tank.
