I've now started stocking my new 55 gallon tank. So far I have 6 red tetras, 2 honey gouramis, 3 endlers, and 3 platies. I would like to add some Rams.

How many should I get? I'd like a pair or even two pairs if they will get along. Since I'm not 100% I can sex them at the store, will there be dire consequences if I get more males than females?

Are any of fish I have so far incompatible with rams. Also, what's a good catfish to go along with them? I seem to remember reading are annoyed by corys.

Thanks,
Chris

I have heard the two pairs could be gotten away with in a 55, and if you got only two out of 4 to pair up there is enough space to flee to for the others.

now as to the corries, yes they would be considered invaders to the breeding territory as would any catfish.

I don't remember the breeding set up liked by rams so I don't know if cats that like caves are out or not... for likeing the same space the cichlids breed in
