Would two pairs of Rams be ok for a 55 gallon tank? I purchased two rams 4 days ago, and it turns out both are female. They don't really seem to mind each other, but do occasionally face off, but it doesn't seem to be anything too violent. If two pairs is too many, then is it ok just to keep the two females, or should I try to get a male and have just a male and female? Thanks :)

1 pair if they dicide to spawn all heck will break lose

[edit]- oh well they will look ALOT more colorful if they have a mate

the females will be fine together but they wont look to good

what kind are they german blue or bolivian cuz im talkin about german blue

All I know is that they're Blue Rams. Not sure if they're from Germany, Asia, or where. The guy in the store wasn't too helpful at all...surprise, surprise  I was in a store in the town where I lived last night, and they had a tank marked "German Rams." That's the first time I've seen them for sale here, but the tank was empty. I'm going to check back and see if they're really German, since I understand these are the hardiest, and if/when they're getting more if they are German.

:) there are two species of rams blue rams also called German blue rams and bolivian rams

now the other designations given them like asian and all those others possibly refer to where they were raised. if at all possible avoid those raised in asia as they are sickly and don't do well

HTH

Can you mix rams? I have 2 german blues in a 45, and they look kinda funny all by themselves. I was thinking some reds, as I hear golds are just blues with less blue pigment..
