I plan to get some blue rams for my 55g community tank. Other species will be tetras, white clouds, danios & some corys. How many rams should I get? I don't want to breed them so does it matter if they are males or females? I guess what I want to know is will they fight amongst themselves? I would like to get about 6 if that would be okay. Thanks in advance for the info. :dance

They will fight amongst themselves. Even if you don't want them to [pair up, they might. Spawning couples get very territorial. 6 males might work but if you don;t want any fighting amongst themselves, I suggest a different fish, or just a pair of rams.

You could get a couple of females if you don't want to breed them. In a tank that size I imagine they would be able to find thier own nitch far enough away from each other to be able to get along well enough. Two males might be ok too in a tank that size...and thier colors are brighter than the females, though the girls are certainly pretty too.
