i might get a 10 gallon puffer tank. i want something besides the dwarf but i know that anything else might get to big. if so i want to get it heavily planted. and get a strong population of snails in it. that way i wont have to feed the puffer and they can eat on their own scedual. will this work or will they eventually munch all the snails?

They will probably eventually get rid of all the snails. I suggest two max in a 10G heavily planted.

any other types of puffers that can go in a 10g.

I would reccomend any puffer besides the dwarf unless you are ready to commit to a heavily planted tank with biweekly water changes. Then there is one more species you can try.

However, snails are not a healthy stable for dwarf puffers. They are too high in fat. A much better staple are bloodworms and mosquito larvae-check out www.dwarfpuffers.com for more information on DPs.

Yea i was really thinking about having 1 dwarf puffer for my 10gal, i need to find a live food source in my area first though.

snails wouldnt last to long, plus there not an idea meal to feed all the time. the snails are great for keeping there teeth short, but nothing else. you will have to find some other live food for them.
