Im thinking about getting a 45g or 65g tank. Both which are deeper than standard tanks 24' +
I like to have good lighting on my tanks. Im really into Angels right now but im thinking about addingg Discus someday. What is the typical recommendation on watts per gallon on freshwater tanks. I know most hood are single bulb. But i love my 18H with the dual bulb eclipse hood. So im thinking either a double or triple strip light for the bigger tank. Even if 3 is too much i can always take one of the bulbs out.

Give me some opinions!

Thanks,

Ryan

depends if you want plants or not. If you don't, any light is ok.
If you do want plants, then 3-4 can get you pretty much everything, while 1-2 gets yu the lower ligth plants. (I'd aim for 4 watts if you want a good selection of plants since your aquairum is fairly deep!)

Also, I'm not sure that you can (or should) be adding discus in a deeper tank due to lack of space!

Hope this helps and good luck with your tank!!!
