How many wpg?

I'm trying to setup a 29g with amazon swords/java fern/java moss and I was wondering how much wpg do I need? Right now I have a weak 20 watt flourescent fixture on it(I have anacharis/crypt/java fern right now)

the java ferns/moss should be okay with what you have, but will grow slowly. I think the sword might need a little more. someone with more experience will chime in shortly i'm sure...

i would shoot for about 2wpg personally. My swords do well in that.

I would add another 20w fixture to it, go for 40w over the 29g. The sword would appreciate better light, but the rest should do well with that.

I would double what you have, and your set for those plants. Or even retrofit your hood with a trio of cheap spiral CFLs.

Don't go to high otherwise you might have to add CO2
