how much ammonia?

Hey guys,just getting ready to start my fishless cycle and was wondering about how much ammonia should i add at first?My tank is a 45gal.with 3"substrate and a few large rocks.Thanks.

I used this sites suggestion of 4-5 drops per 10 gallon. Worked great for me.

You cannot judge the concentration in the purchased bottle, you have to measure the ammonia concentration in the tank.

ok little late but after a 60%water change were back to managible.Holy Crap!!! So 8-10 drops per 10 gal.huh?Might want to sticky that in the main fishless cycle thread.geezzz. :clap:

There is too much variation between the concentrations of various brands. You must measure the concentration in the tank.
