How much are clown plecos worth?.

Getting a second opinion here.
According to pleco fanatics...they are either not worth more then $7 or worth up to $40 if they are large.

Someone was selling a pair of adult clown plecos for $40.

Oh and not interested in buying from the LFS , because I don't want to buy wild caught fish anymore. Getting some "second hand" fish means I am not directly supporting taking them out of the wild. So that is the only way I'd get clown plecos, otherwise I'll get bristlenose plecos instead.

Fully adult sized clowns are a bit more rare than the babies you normally see. If they are healthy adults and a proven breeding pair, 40 bucks is'nt bad. If they are just full sized adults, I'd offer 30 or so. Either way, nice fish.
