How much does an all-glass 10 gallon tank cost?

AS for the price of a 10 gallon tank, I have bought tanks for as low as $4 on sale, they were not all glass but just as nice. The tanks at walmart are fairly cheap also and are just as nice. But the usual price for a tank at any store, expect to pay from any where from $5 -15 for a tank but the average is probably $10. I have been in the collection of tanks for over 30 years, and I haven't noticed a major quality difference in tank brands for 10 gallon tanks.

yeah, i'd agree. i havent really seen different quality in 10 g tanks. i also agree with others that you might as well buy as big of a tank as you wanna have cuz theyre easier to maintain. i would also second the classified suggestion. i check the classifieds every now and then and see tanks for sale all the time. personally, i've acquired so many tanks for such good deals: a 75 g for $40, three free 30 g, three free 10 g, a 35 hex for $10, a free 55 g (cracked side tho...still good for reptiles or amphibians which i keep as well), and pry a couple more that i've forgotten. if you ask around, youd be surprised at how many people have an "old tank" hidden in their attic or something. anyway, hope this helps you find the tank you want.

You can generally find name-brand 10g's for around 8 bucks in the chain stores around here (Petsmart, Petco, etc). As far as branding goes, there have been lotsa take-overs and mergers lately, so many of the different tank manufacturers are really all the same place. There are only like two or three different ones left. If I remember correctly All-Glass and Island are both now owned by Central and I'm pretty sure Aquaria (Marineland) just bought somebody else out too

I was surprised to see a thread asking for the price of just an aquarium with nothing in it. To be honest the tank is one of the cheapest components. Where the costs add up are gravel, plants (real or fake), heater, filter, hood, lighting, decorations, plus any other supplies you will need.

What gets me Cap'n is that the poor guy was ready to go make himself one, lol. It would probably cost more to make a *standard* 10g than it does to buy one. *gentle chuckle*

Oh yeah, Marineland bought out Perfecto! Knew it would come to me later, hehe. They've been making lotsa neat aquisitions

I agree with most of the other posts, I purchased my Top Fin 10 gal. at Wal-Mart for $35, it included a hanging box filter, a heater, florescent light fixture, and bulb, thermometor, fish net, Tetramin The Rich Mix fish food, AquaSafe water conditioner.
I ended up spending an additional $70-$100 stocking the tank though, this included a bio-wheel(to accomidate my box filter)medium sized log, gravel ( I prefer unpainted or undyed gravel, natural is safer, and looks better),
plastic floating plants, a couple of decorations (a gargoyle, and a sign),
air pump and tubing, bubble stick, and a better thermometor (the one included in the tank kit was crappy),
and of course the fish. For the beginner guppies are nice, maybe a male and 3-4 fems. *But beware!!*
They breed worse than rabbits, and once you see the fry, you'll want to save them and raise them, or your other option is to let them get eaten by the adult fish. I made the mistake of putting gups in my very first 10 gal tank, and now I have a spare 2 gal. for raising the fry, and just recieved a 20 gal that I don't know what I'm going to do with yet. Good luck finding and setting up your tank!

Do not order that 10gallon online. Just go to your closest fish store or pet store and buy it. It shouldn't be more than $12. But you need more than the tank. A mini aquclear HOB filter would work well at $23. A hood and light at $20. Those are essential. If you live in a cold area, get a heater at $12-$30. Buy rocks at the hardware store really cheap= 40lbs for $3. A net, fish food is $5. I just dig up free worms in my yard every day.
This will all cost you $80-$100, but the start-up costs are alway the highest.
10gllons are the cheapest tanks, even cheaper than 2.5's and 5 gallons. Buy theat any store, but that ***** of wal-mart.
