How much has the hobby cost you this month?

I think I've spent about $8.00 on water, then whatever it comes to for electricity on a 15gal. Not bad

after reading all this i belive its way better thinking how much you spent on fish and fish related stuff than how much you have lost do to fish dying or getting eaten when you did not intend for that to happen like when my 75 got hit with ich real bad i took two and a hlaf of the bigg bottles to get rid of it not to mention lot of gravle vaccuming and water changes we lost about seven fish and most of them were not very cheap.
there was:
green phantom pl*co-$50
3x roseline sharks- $35(each)
2x loaches (no idea what they were wasnt there when were bought) came to about 30 for bloth of them
bala cat-cant remember
and a huge kissing gourami- dont know (but i didnt like that fish anyways)
he was my tanks D student (he only beat out the snail)

Instead of just this month, I will start from the beginning of the year. First, I traded a pair of albino bristlenose plecos for a 4 inch gold nugget (small dots). A few days later, a saw a beautiful, small gold nugget pleco that was very active. I bought it and 7 glass catfish for $35. A few weeks later, I decided to get some better looking discus, so I traded 3 poorly marked golden dragon discus for $45 in store credit. I bought 2 large, beautiful Red Dragon Discus for $110 from an importer. When I got them home, what I feared would happen occured, the new discus were so beautiful that they made my other discus look poor. At this point I realized something needed to be done. I worked out a trade with the LFS, my $45 in credit + 2 small blue diamond discus, + the first small spot gold nugget pleco (which I wanted to get rid of now that I had the better looking one) for 2 large wild green discus.

So in summary:
I added 2 large beautiful red dragon discus, 2 large wild green discus, 7 glass catfish, and 1 gold nugget pleco
I subtracted 2 albino bristlenose catfish, 1 gold nugget pleco, 2 small blue diamond discus, 3 poorly marked golden dragon discus, and $145.

I am now very happy and I think I am finished :)

I dont like the way Big Als works. Compare their US to CAn prices.

its expensive and a hastle to ship stuff to Canada. Sometimes, people order my mom's videos, which only cost about 1.28 to send via US Post Service, plus price of the padded envalope. For Canada, I have to go to the post office, fill out a customs form, wait in line, and pay 7 dollars to ship the same package.

Keep that in mind.

So what kind of videos are we talking about?
"You've been a bad boy, Mr. Mackey, now you'll have to drink from this cup..."

29 gallon fresh with all the fixin's has been about $300.00+ but it's money well spent as far as I'm concerned!

I quit keeping track after we broke the $15,000.00 mark with this tank.....
