how much is my Iridescent shark worth?

Original price... $7
Feeding until they grow to their current size... $20
Finding a good permanent home for them... Priceless!

What they're worth is only relevant if you can find a buyer. This will probably not be easy given how big these guys get. I'd worry more about who can give them the best home as opposed to how much you can get for them The $35 quoted earlier is probably fair but I'd be prepared to take less.

I have seen those that size at my favorite lfs that size for $55 retail.

Look at the size of them based on the size of the tank ;)

Not to put word in the mouth of the OP but generally that is why they need new homes...

I think you're right, but if it were me, and there were anyway possible with available space and finances. I would try to just cull the heard and get a bigger more appropriate size tank. Those really are beautiful fish.

i would try to just get your $7 and $10 dollars back...

If you are patient and with alittle luck you will get that or more back..

The price goes down with size.. As these two species do not stop growing and they are as commmon almost as convicts.. The Paroons would be easier to sell and somewhat still more wanted...

But In my opiniln you are going to be hard pressed to get them out of your house without paying someone to take them ;)They are best compared to the price of Large Pacu ;) Donating to the LFS is usually what people do.

Wow, nice fish! I hope the tank is big enough for them! Anyways, if I can remember correctly, I think I saw one a few months ago that was about 7" for $40. You might want to double check that. You might want to start with an asking price that is between $70-$100 since you raised them yourself. I believe that holds some value to your fish; they also look very healthy.

again, why profit?

is this about the fish, or your wallets?

just my .02

If he paid $7 each at 3" and he sells them now for $40 each at 13" I don't see that he's making much if any of a profit. It has cost him money to house and feed them all this time during the growing process.
My question is why not profit? If he can, I see no reason what so ever why ANYONE shouldn't try to make money where they can in any hobby. In a hobby, even when you make money it's rarely a profit. It's usually just an offset of expenses.
