How much light & CO2 for Glosso

I just ordered 5 bunches of Glosso online. I've never tried this before, so I figured I'd give it a try.
I have 100 watts total in my 40 gallon breeder (16" High) and I'm injecting DIY CO2 and reading 20 to 25 ppm. My substrate is 50/50 Flourite and Eco-Complete, about 3 inches deep. I also fertilize with the entire line of Flourish products twice a week, and do 50% water change once a week.
So - does this sound like I can grow Glosso?

ok, i realize this isnt an answer to your question, but what's your DIY set-up like on a tank that size? i'd like to start CO2 injection on my tank but it's 46 gallons and ive only heard of DIY set ups on much smaller tanks.
 
You will probably struggle to keep it growing low at that wattage/height.
It wants to grow vertically at less than 3watts./gal. and at 16" it will be a challenge.
It definitely must not be shaded, and especially if the lighting is CF you have a shot, IMO.
Cutting the strings into individual plantlets and planting singly or in pairs will get it started better and it will spread better. If it starts to grow vertically, give it a haircut. That will encourage horizontal growth.

Ok - Thanks guys. The place I ordered from (Aquarium Garden.com) takes about 10 to 14 days to process the orders, so it will be a while, but I'll let you know how I make out.

its not the quantity of watts, rather the quality.
If your lighting is regular florescent tube lights then you might have some trouble...if its PC u'll be better off, I don't know if they make MH's in 100 watters? and if its VHO you might be ok too...
 
Yeah, I forgot to say what type light I have - it's all compact fluorescent, 6700k. (I guess thats what you call PC).
I don't know how much glosso the 5 bunches will amount to, but I have a feeling that it will be more than I need.

With PC your odds for success increase remarkably.

Like I said, the answer is plainly and simply Yes with 100w in a 40 gal breeder, I've had this same tank with 80w of NO FL's and the Gloss does great.

We've also seen it growing wonderfully at 2.1 w/gal in a 24" deep 125 gal consistently for 8 years.

The trouble will NOT be the lighting, rather nutrients/CO2.
