How much light would I need for a 10 gallon reef tank? I am thinking of starting up a 10 gallon reef tank and I have no clue how much light that I am going to need. Pleas let me know. Thanks

For fish I would like to have a scooter blenny & a firefish. For corals I would keep it simple with some shrooms, leathers, and zoo's. Please let me know. I have no clue about the lighting of a reef aquarium. Thanks

I would get the light that is in my signature. Heck I did get it lol but it was reccommended to me by a very experienced reefer. I got the 20" one and then I bought a glass top for $14 at petco. Its an amazing light and it allows you to have almost anything you want. The only complaint I had when I first got it was that the fan was a tad loud but I just put it on a timer so it turns off when only the moonlight is on at night. Just click the link in my signature.

If you dont intend on keeping the light intensive corals, then a good small T5 or PC setup would be more than adequate for your needs..aim for around 125 - 150w...

Just my opinion of course... :)

No those bulbs wont work. They dont put off enough wattage. After you buy 2 of those and pay for shipping your at $30ish. I would rather spend the extra $100 and get an amazing light that will cover almost all the possibilites for a 10 gallon reef.

Scooter blennies (or more accurately, scooter dragonettes) probably would do best in a large well-established tank with lots of live rock and sizeable copepod population (many will only consume live food such as that). If you're lucky you may find one which consumes frozen mysis, brine shrimp and such.

Hey....don't mean to hijack your thread, but since I had a question about lighting I thought I'd just ask here. Anyone care to tell me if this lighting is good for my 55?

They are compact fluorescent, 4 130 watt bulbs, Dual Daylight (10,000k 6700k) Dual Actinic (460 nm 420nm). When and in what combination should I use them? Thanks in advance...
