How much Onyx Sand do I need? This stuff is fine!

Picked up 4 bags of Onyx Sand today and was amazed at how fine it is. I was planning on getting 2 more bags for a total of 90lbs (42Kg)for my 90gal tank but I'm not sure that will be enough. According to the packaging, 1Kg per 31 sqaure inches will give a 2inch depth. So for my 48 by 18 footprint (864 sq. inches), 4 bags should do. I'd like to have 2inches at the front of the tank and slope up to the back. 2 more bags sounds right...but wow that stuff is fine!

Does this sound about right?
 
For two inches, its a bag per to gallons. It says it on big al's and they were right. At least you made a very smart choice with the onyx, you will be very happy.
 
So you use this NJ? No wonder I haven't seen you post about cleaning your hoses. You probably just stir it up near the filter intake and *presto!*, sandblasted hoses!:p :D
