how much salt do you put in a freshwater 10 gallon

Donna, don't worry about the salt right now- mollies do like some salt but right now I'd be more concerned about your stocking issues. The pleco in particular won't work in a 10 gallon but the rainbow shark is going to be a problem as well and if you had one jumper already it sounds your water quality is already suffering. Is it a fairly new tank?

its been used before and cycled before but my daughter said they started using this one again last week but its cyled.

Have you done any ammonia or nitrite tests lately? I would think they would be quite high with that many fish.

stop using the salt. keep the water changes up 50% weekly would be best and figure out what to do with your stocking levels.

do you have a test kit? have you tested your water?

If it's been sitting w/out fish it's going to need to cycle again... is that the case?

it only set for about 4 days with the old water in it plus there was 1 baby fish in there we didnt get out
