Ok, He gets algae tabs, flakes, shrimp pellets, the blood worms, and any top food that makes it way down to his layer, and now I am starting them on blanched zucchini. I have 2 in one tank, one is about 4in, the others is about 7, about how much zucchini can they eat in one feeding, and how often?

What other kinda veggies would benefit, and how much?

I don't even blanch the zucchini for my pleco -- he loves it uncooked. I just cut about a 2-3 inch piece, peel the skin, skewer it and drop it in the tank. By the next morning it's mostly gone (they're basically nocturnal so doesn't tend to feed on the zucchini until late). He'll also eat peas (as well as the other fish -- it's good for all of them). I use frozen peas, thaw them in warm water, slide of the skin and toss several in. I also tried cucumbers - big failure. He will eat lettuce too. SO far that's all I've tried, although I've heard that carrots are good for them too.

I wouldn't recommend it, but I feed mine three times a day with high quality algae wafers. I put one algae wafer per plecostomus. If they were huge, I would feed them 3 algae wafers per plecostomus.

I just cut off a chunk, drop it in at lights out, and then remove anything leftover in the morning.

What kind of plecos? Some like the veggie skins (such as wood-eating types).

Just about any fruit or veggie can be fed, though zucchini, mushrooms, sweet potato/yams, and the like are popular. The first couple times you feed you might want to blanch them so that they are more likely to eat it. Otherwise, you can skip if they eat it okay. The blanching just seems to make them more likely to try it for some reason (releases particles so they can smell it more easily, maybe?).

Blanching also softens it... I think they are more likely to realize it's not a living plant before it starts rotting.... just my guess...
