A friend of mine wants to sell me his 55 gallon aquarium. He is also throwing in a bio wheel filter, which I dont know if i will use or not, becasue I am goning to make it into a SW tank. It comes with the stand and the hood. It is in ok shape. No visible scratches and just a few dings in the wood stand. I think it will look nice once i clean it up a bit He wants to sell it to me for $175. I was jsut wondering if this is a good deal or not? i know its hard to tell without a pic or anything, any comments or ideas woudl be great.

With out a pic.. Going off your description I would say yes it's a fair deal. a 55g with hood and stand sells used here all day anywhere from $125-$175. And just for the record I have a Bio-wheel 350 on my 55g FOWLR. I would say it's a fair deal.. You could always talk him down to 150 easy.... I bought my 55g new because I had the $$$$ and there were no used ones for sell. Tank and crappy all-glass canopy/lights was $119
yeah id say thats a good price. decent and not the cheapest but i paid $250 for mine and it came with stand and light 2 filters and accessories. i wish your friend sold it to me before i bought my 55 lol
