How much should I rinse seachem flourite?

you're never going to wash away the dust completely, the trick is getting it to a minimum.....and that takes a long time.... and just when you think you have a handle on it, you will put it in the tank and fill the tank with water.... and there will be so much.... it will settle though.... don't worry about washing the nutrients away, the nutrients are well within the chunks

You shouldn't rinse it for the reason you mentioned.

I would rinse it a few times. and quit. put it all in your tank, scape it the way you want it. then get some dishes/plates/ plastic boards, whatever you can fit in your aquarium to cover the substrate. the idea is when you fill it up with water, you try to disturb the substrate as little as you can. then remove the plates/dishes/etc and run your filter >:P it'll all clear up within a day.

I rinsed my fluorite really, really well (I dont know another way to describe it) and when I added water to the tank I noticed little free floating particles. Granted, I used a lot less per tank volume than I'd assumed most people would...
