I Just went on my up keep time, takes me about 2hrs daily to do all the tanks. 50% wcs and such, wiping tanks down, feeding, etc. While I'm doing that I usually get my watching in, but probably another hour or so a day I spend observing most of the fish to make sure everyone is healthy and acting right. Weekends are different, usually sundays I do all my major stuff, I'll spend 3-4hrs on that each saturday. All depends.

its a full time thing

NIce. I was curious as to what gets more time, the pure enjoyment of watching, or the work involved. Appears to me that the work is the most time consuming. Time: being what I was inquiring about. I forgot about the web researching things. Web browsing, for me consumes most of my tank time. I've got tank maintenance down to a simple art. Its the just siting back and enjoying that needs more work lol :)

It was nice to read the responses. Now I don't feel so guilty about all the time I spend on this hobby. Sometimes, I think I'm turning into a geek. Its good to know I'm in good company. ;)

I don't even want to begin to tell you how much time I spend on my tanks everday, just let me say my wife thinks that I married the fish not her. LOL ( No it is not that bad really) ;)

I spend more time with my birds than fish. I get up in the morning, get all three of my devious trio, and we go have breakfast (they steal cereal out of my bowl). Then we hangout on the computer for a while until around 11am when the tank lights turn.

I put the birds back so they can eat "bird" things (millit, fruit/veggies, and seed) and drink water, then I feed, test and change water, and watch everyone to make sure they're active and healthy.

At night, I feed whenever I'm about to goto bed or have to catch up on a skipped maintaince period. Me and the birds also play at night, they mostly sleep socialize with eachother durning the afternoon, though soon they'll have a playground to hang out on during the day.

Too funny Smurf....lol....

I have no idea how long it takes me to do my tank chores.....I have so many tanks sitting around I just sort of putz here and there throughout the day with them. I don't keep journals or anything on the them...probably should but I've never been much of a paper freak...lol...the largest I have is a 29, the rest are 5 gallons, 2,1's and a couple of those small betta hex things setup as little planted tanks..lol...I'll have to take some pics of those. they're pretty cool little things.

I have a 29 right by this computer...just put three panda cories in it the other day :D I love to sit in front of that tank and just watch it. While the family is watching t.v...I'm watching my tank...lol...those little cories really add to the activity in there..I love em !

I'd say at least a couple hours a day...just putzing, cleaning and observing....then I go play my fiddle for a few hours.....

At school I draw skeches from memory (I am quit good) at home I wachthe tanks, on weekends I siphon the cichlid tank. all time is spent on fish since the mudskipper
