I would just like to know, how much time do you spend watching your fish? not bugging them with waterchonges or anything, but just pulling up a chair and watching? Oh, and do you have any particular favorites?

me: I probably watch my divided betta tank for at least 10 mins a day, and my 7 cory/ 1 goldfish tank like, 20 mins. But I could personally watch my tropical community tank for hours, and I do, for like an hour before bed each night... I find it very relaxing

I spend at least an hour a day watching my tanks -- I have a 10 gallon in my bedroom and a 37 gallon in my living room. I would say I watch them both equally. I look into them and count the fish every time I walk by each tank :)

Not as much as I wish did!! Sometimes I feel like I'm just giving them free rent and they're not earning their keep!! However I did just recently get a pretty big tank and I can see it across the room much better now!

The cats watch my tanks more than anyone else. I get maybe a half hour every day... but then again, I do about a half hour of maintenance every day as well.

At least an hour. My tank with the two apistos in it is by far my favorite. The brevis come in second and will probably be tied once they start to pair off and defend territories/spawn. Ever since i moved the apistos out of my main tank 29g, there's not much in there to hold my interest, but the fact that it's in my living room means I'm at least glancing at it from time to time. I really need to get some cichlids in there.

I'm more of an occasional glancer myself. I'll normally watch the fish when I feed them or when a pair is displaying courting behavior or actually breeding. Other than that, I'll just look over at the tank for a min or two, every now and then, when I'm watching TV or walking through the room. It seems I look at the tank as a 'whole' most of the time, as opposed to stopping to just look at individual fish, per say.

All 3 tanks are in the living/dining room, so I can see them all from the comfort of the sofa.

The 2 betta tank is right beside the TV.
The community tank and Oscar's tank are beside each other. Yes, he can see them, lol, so its always interesting.

Seems there is always something going on in the planted community tank. 8 adult swords, 2, 2month old babies, 2 3 wk old babies, and 3 Ottos. Plenty of activity.

My 75g is in my computer room right behind me. It's probably the best place in the world for it. Any time I get frustrated with a computer project or just generally bored with things, I just spin around in my comfy, plush leather chair and watch my fish. It just drains away all my stress and passes time like crazy. Often when I'm bored, I'll start watching the fish and then someone will IM me and I'll just ignore them in favor of the fish.

Whenever I'm home.. or at my BFs house.
I have the main 90 in my living room which is the main room in my house, which can be viewed from the kitchen. And I have another 10 in my bedroom which i watch whenever im in there! And various bettas scattered here and there.
Same goes for my BFs house, fish everywhere!!
As for an exact amount of time... you dont want to know, and I don't want to think about it ;)

i watch my tank alot sometimes i even fall asleep watching it. i watch it even more when its feeder fish day. some of my friends dont understand but on the other hand some do.
