How much water flow needed with africans

I have a Marineland 360 gph canister filter only for my 75 gallon african cichlid tank. There is hardly any surface movement. How important is water surface turbulance and flow in a cichlid environment?? I am considering getting a hydor 2 or 3 to increase oxygen. I dont want to get anything to powerful that will end up blowing sand all over!!

My 75/90s have two Mag 350s and RUGF with 2-4 powerheads.

I use airstones, bubblewands, etc.... for added water movement and oxygen in all of my tanks.

Im going to have a tang community. Mostly the smaller less agressive ones.

Try a bubblelewand hiddin in the back of the tank behind some rocks or something.

Why not point the spray bar towards the water surface?

i use a bubble bar behind rock ledge and looks good and works great also 2 rio 600 power heads

Why not point the spray bar towards the water surface?

I put my spraybar slightly underneath and adjust its angle to ripple accross the tank. Gives nice ripples without blasting fish around.

Also have a bubblewand.
