I'm just wondering with my fish how often I should feed them beefheart and bloodworms. In the past I was only feeding pellets, flakes and algee wafers but now I'm trying to give them a more rounded diet. I certainly don't want to underfeed them. Right now I throw in the beefheart and bloodworms about twice a week in substitute of the pellets.

What you're doing is fine. However, I do reccomend skipping one day a week- I mean don't feed your friend's anything at all for one day. This allows their digestive systems to clear out and assures that you have any negative effects from overfeeding them throughout the week. They won't be happy but in the wild they may go several days with little or nothing to eat.

Personally, I feed a pinch of flake in the morn., then every day/every second day in the afternoon I feed enough table shrimp for evyone to get some. I aim to feed some kind of veggie to most of my fish atleast once a week, but some fish are unacepting and sometimes I forget.

The only reason my fish get shrimp every day is becuase I never feed flakes/pellets to my marine tank, and I usually defrost more shrimp than I need for just the one tank, so everybody get's some.

my regimen is as follows: betta: 2 times daily, veggie flakes in morning, pellets at night. platies: veggie flakes in the morning, regular flakes at night, bloodworms on friday for them both. pleco: once daliy, algae discs and fresh vegtables or fruits twice a week. ghost shrimp: everything just listed.

Juvenile Green Severum, several (4-6) small feedings/snacks per day.

Community tank; 7 Cardinal Tetras, 7 Black Neon Tetras, 1 Blue Dwarf Gouramie, 1 SAE. One moderate feeding per day, skip days at random.

Adult Oscar, one moderate/large meal per day with perhaps a treat at nite, skip days at random.

why do you skip days? to help their system?

In short, yes. When you skip a day of feeding it helps insure that their digestive systems clears out reducing any chance of obstruction. It is a beneficial practice and if you do so one day a week your fish will be fine.
