How Often To Feed?

I have a had a tank with typical small community fish for about a month now.

I have been feeding small amounts twice a day.

The fish eat almost all the food in under two minutes.

Does that sound about right, or is that too much?

Nope, it sounds perfect. I feed my fish once a day, because of my schedule. 2 light feedings a day certainly don't hurt.

I totally agree. The worst thing to do - and it's easy - is to overfeed your fish.

If the food isn't settling to the bottom and going to waste then you are doing it right. If you do overfeed then make sure to get a gravel vacuum to do a good cleaning each week.

For beginners i recommend once every two days because most novice overfeed.

I prefer feeding once every 3 days. But, you need to be very experienced if you want to ensure peak fish health feeding this way.
