How old is your Oscar?

I am reading the life span is 8-12 years. Is this correct? I do see a few other sources saying it’s 10-20. I recently adopted a 4 yr old and one 8. They are in separate tanks. The older one is more active & looks great.

My Oscar made it 13yrs with one tank mate, a green severum. The severum is healthy and active to this day. He's got a 3-4yr/old gold jack Dempsey as his current tank mate in the 75gal
