I know I shouldn't have done it, but it'll give me an excuse to get a bigger tank.
I went to the store and got 3 Peppered Cory Cats (Corydoras paleatus) and they are all less than an inch long - they're so cute! I know a better number for corys would be closer to 6, sooo... I went back to the store thinking I might be able to fit one more, and of course they only had 2 left! So I did the only humane thing, I bought both! I couldn't leave the one poor little guy in the tank alone!!!
;)
The one problem is my tank is a 10g that has a betta going in there. Right now they fit in there just fine, but I know once they are full grown I'll have to move them to a larger tank ... Shhh, don't tell my boyfriend, hehe!
My question is how quickly do these guys grow? Am I going to have to upgrade in a couple months or closer to a year?
I think my next tank may be a 29g but not sure yet. Depends what I can get away with!

I think those guys stay pretty small like the Pandas....If you have 5 in your 10 gallon you should be fine....no need to upgrade if thats all you got

I thought peppered corydoras grow to about 2.5 inches. So I guess you would be a bit overstocked if you had 5 full grown peppered corydoras in there. Cories like a lot of room too, so a 29 would be great for 5 of them. Plus you could add some other fish along with your betta and cories. I had my skunk cory for about 3 years now I think he grew rather slowly but I can't really remember.

I've got 4 peppers, and they barely changed size so far.
I've seen "large fin pepper"'s at the LFS that were over 2".
Mines are all slightly under 2".
I've got them in my 10G, and I don't think they mind.

Wow, less than 1" long - that's pretty small.

Corys are slow growers in general. but a good rule of thumb when upsizing a tank to take fish growth in to consideration, is to change the tank before they need it. fish wont grow naturally if they don't have the room to grow in. They can get stunted.
I think, if you can, get the new tank within a couple of months. They'll love you more for it! :D

My three have grown about 1/2 an inch in 8 weeks. They get fatter too, not just longer, and get an almost armour-plated quality, which looks cool. They can get up to about 3 inches, but i'm guessing that'll take a year or two. I reckon you're ok for now.

I guess they are about an inch. But they are really tiny. They make me laugh!

I'll keep an eye on they're growth and probably in a few months I'll start a fishless cycle in a bigger tank. Thanks guys!

You sure the aren't dwarfs?
I just seen my first dwarf corys, and they looked like mini pepper corys!

I have 5 peppered and 4 emerald,,,I have had them over a year and got them all when they were about 3/4 inch long,,,the peppered are now about 2 inches long if you count the tail which takes up 1/2 inch,,the emeralds are a bit smaller. So I would say they grow slowely.
