How to clean waterspots from outside glass?

If it is on the outside of the tank and not on the inside I use this glass cleaner I bought from a place that sells glass for decorations and autos. Might want to try that or even maybe a body shop or car dealer may have some they sell. Dealers do not sell you a car with dirty glass. ;)

ill tell you i just recently found a windex all pupose oxy all surface type cleaner ..i spary the paper towels in a nother room and the glass has never looked better!

Be careful spraying around the tank, I would use judgemaxs method and spray whatever onto a cloth/papertowel away from the tank, then clean. I'm overly cautious though too ;)

I really appreciate all the suggestions. I have now tried all suggested but the Coralife and lemon Kool-aid. The steel wool caused scratches on the glass (I tested it in an inconspicous place), I let a lemon juice paper towel stack soak for quite a while...still there. I will check my LFS for the Coralife and pick up some Kool-aid. I think the spots are a bit lighter, but still pretty obvious. I'll keep trying because it's really distracting to me.
Thanks again.

I know exactly what you are talking about, one of my tanks that I got about 2 weeks ago has the same problem. Let me know what works, I would love to get it clean.

I had this problem on my 10gal, it was on the inside tho, tryed scratching it off eveything its still there...but i went to petsmart and baught this lil spray bottle made to restore glass and get rid of it and it worked. Only like 10bucks a bottle? Looks like a extra small bottle of windex since it was blue and they said its safe for fish. But since its on the outside try some windex thats what i use all the time for outside to shine things and get rid of fingerprints and water stain the fish cause by splashin around.

i would say try using vinger & water that may help u some. but it's just a solution but if it works that would be great for u.

I found something that helped!! It isn't completely gone, but the water spots have faded enough I can live with it. I found it at the LFS and was suggested by the guys in the fish dept. and is what they use on the stores tanks. Its by API Aquarium Pharmaceuticlas and called "Safe & Easy" Spray. It is fish safe. It sort of reminds me of a watery car wax type stuff and will dry that kind of hazy until buffed. Then you buff it good, yep the old elbow grease. I imagine it is a wax base of some kind. It made the light spots completely dissapear and the really white ones fade. WOOOHOOOOO!!!! It was most certainly worth the $5.99 I paid for the little bottle.
Thanks to everyone and all the suggestions.
mykidsmylife with the spot free tank :dance2:

I have the same problem. I kept trying to use a wet towel but it would just make more spots on it. After a day, the towel dried, and with it, I tried wiping the glass again. Bam, it was gone. So use a dry towel instead of a wet one.
