i got a 5.5g cube with temperature of 30degrees celcius.. how can i cool it down to at least 27? maybe put ice in the filter?

Freeze conditioned water in bottles and float them in the tank.

I always freeze a bottle of ice and float it... boy does that work!

Bags of ice floating in the tank work but I also like the idea of the fan blowing across the surface of the water with the lid off. I do this for my saltwater reef and it tends to work very well.

I have the same problem in my 150g goldfish tank; the water reached 80* this morning.

I'll try using the frozen water bottle idea.

using a fan would lower the temp drastically, but also cause significant evaporation. but thats a small price to pay in my book

my LFS sells the mini fan made for cooling the aquarium, which cost about *here in malaysia* RM60, i could buy a betta with RM1.50.. im just trying to shed some light on currency value here in malaysia.. Conclusion it is not worth it.

My tank is already evaporating really fast so im crossing out the fan idea, im losing about 0.7g per week. Is this normal? and no i dont have a lid.. :grinyes:

Freezing water in a bottle and leaving it in the tank sounds good... but approximately how many frozen bottle for a 5.5g tank?? how big should the bottle be... 1litre? 2litre? btw my room temperature stays at...

30degrees-daytime
28degrees-night time.

thanks for all the replys!!
