in your house!!
my betta has cloudy eye. the water is fine and i havent added or changed anything so how do i cure this? the only i can think of is old age that could be doing it to him. he wont die will he?

Hi,

What exactly are your water parameters? What test kit do you use? Cloudy eyes indicate either infected eye injury or poor water conditions. If your water is clear, it doesn't mean there is nothing wrong with it. I suggest you test your water parameters. Doing daily water changes is your best defense here.

Can also be caused by an injury.

When any of my betta ever came down with anything I did not use meds. I would put them in a walmart sized dish and float them in a heated tank. I'd also float another same size dish with only fresh clean water in it and every day I would switch the betta from the dish it was in....to the clean dish and setup the other dish with clean water for the next day. The reason for floating the other dish is so that the water you move it to is the exact same temp.

The fish will be fine in the small dish with the daily water changes until whatever is ailing it (if it's cureable)....is past. Then give it's tank a good cleaning before you reintroduce the fish.

when i said fine i meant the params were good lupester. i used the nutrafin liquid test kit. ill try salt out and see if that helps

Sorry about your troubles. Lupin is asking what your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels actually measure. If possible, post a photo. Any other lesions/symptoms observed?

Salt has absolutely no place in FW systems for the treatment for clouding eye caused either by bacterial cause or injury. Skip it and concentrate instead on doing water changes to optimize chance for recovery.

I agree with Lupin and Vader- Waterchanges are the best remedy for this one. Stick to some good daily waterchanges and you'll have the best chance of fixing the eye. :)

hey it looks like his eye is clearing up a bit! its not as bad as yesterday, still quite noticble but all around better! i did another 60% WC today to
