Just a quick question, when i am cutting/fragging the GSP. Where do i cut? Can i cut anywhere and place it somewhere with a rubberband, or do i have to actually cut it from the piece of rock where its growing?

I either break the rock or cut the matting and scrape it off with a credit card or other dull thin scraper.

what do you mean scrape if with a credit card?:grinyes: I want to keep it, just want to move a few pieces of it around.

break the rock. whip out the exacto, and presto. GSP frags:grinyes:

(wear gloves and eye protection)

By scrape I mean just below the mat, idealy you will remove a very small amount of rock with the mat, but if not no worries as long as the mat comes up.

How'd it go? Pictures would be great! ;)

With proper water params, GSP spreads so quickly you can just as well place a small rock right up against the fringe of your colony and within a month or two it will start to attach to the rock. Unless you are in a bind to have to frag, that of course is the safest way, no need to risk harming the coral. GSP is the saltwater equivalent to weeds! Every time I go to my LFS I always ask him for little pieces of LR that break off in his tanks, he just gives them to me, and I trade my GSP frags back in for other stuff. I have fragged my GSP this way at least 6 times now.
