how to divide a 75g ????

thanks aoscar. i was thinking eggcrate myself. but i want to breed in the 3 different sections. and i think the fry would find their way through the gaps in the eggcrate. maybe eggcrate with some plastic screen siliconed to it?

I have a thing for "over complicating" the hell out of simple DIY things. :coffee2:

Here is what I did:

Clear plastic canvas (ALLOT of very small holes) from Walmart and nylon zip ties:

Some PVC elbows for a frame:

All assembled with holes drilled facing down over the screen:

Painted the PVC with Krylon Fusion black and hooked up a powerhead to pressurize the divider:

Water flowing evenly over screen keeps from having too strong of a current for fry but decent water movement.

End result:

This whole thing maybe cost me $10 but works with small/medium size tanks since you can zip tie as many sheets together as needed. This setup was a 55 gallon for reference.

Good luck!

That craft mesh is what I used to make a taller wall to the filter in my tank. Works great, especially since it partly covers on of the filter intake- water can still get through, but not fish, and very cheap. :)

if you are using it for breeding.. simply place glass/acrylic dividers seal with silicone creating tank sections and use sponge filter for filtration.

The foam sheets that www.swisstropicals.com sells looks like a great option...just cut slightly oversize and wedge it in. This is what I'm planning on doing, and it can double as a sponge filter as well.
