How to euthanize a fish

Exsacally....We may loose 1-2 fish a year to unknown reasons, i have had fish that looked terminal and pulled threw, good thing i waited........:)
 
sledge hammer on the head is quick AND painless AND free. you don't need a full swing like you're chopping wood unless it's a great big sucker, but grab it closer to the sledge and wack it on the head real good on the driveway. flat as a pancake. i don't like it either, but it's 100 times better than wasting money, pissing around with potions and freezers or even worse, wasting perfectly good alcohol.
 
me knows this will not turn into a bad thing....

how about putting the fish IN the alcohol, letting it sit for a couple months and THEN drinking the infused booze. Snake whiskey=goldfish Vodka?:headbang2:

Clove oil and some tank water, alcohol isn't needed. Once it's asleep I put the small container in the freezer for a few hours to complete the job.
