How to filter a small aquarium

even with those filters you still will have a problem with the fry getting sucked up.i always had baby mollies in there.just put a piece of foam filter on the bottom and that should be ok

I actually keep these filters with My Hets who are about the size of most live bearer fry and have had no problems with any getting sucked into the filter.

Generally speaking fish that get stuck to filters, even fry, are the weakest of the group and maybe even already dying. There are always exceptions but none of my platy fry in a 5 gallon with a whisper have ever been sucked up.

hmm i want to differut of 16 molly fry,13 ended up in that small whisper filter,on more than one occasion. :dance :OT: they are now 2 months old and are all doing great.after i put some foam on the bottom of the filter,no one got sucked up.
