How to get pleco to eat

isn't courgette actually Zucchini??

Yes it's the same thing star..
I have SD's and a bristlenose pleco, I would definately say that the SD's will get the discs you are feeding no matter what time. I would go with the zucchini if you want to be sure he gets something.
I have spirulina discs I find if I break them into quarters and drop in say 12 quarters (3 discs) my pleco usually gets some and so does my raphael catfish while the SD's have a nice chunk in their mouths which keeps them occupied for about 40 seconds.

did you try feeding at night?

some times fish tank some time to get used to their new tank.

It doesn't matter when I feed. The angelfish and silver dollars are ready to eat whenever I feed. I can occupy the silver dollars by making sure each one has an algae disc. But, the pleco is oblivious to anything going on in the tank. The pleco is either hiding or zipping around the tank.

He should come around if not can you rehouse him for a day or two and feed him some so that he knows they are good?
If not I would go with trying to hide it (my SD's are pretty relentless even when it's hidden) or Zucchini which the SD's may nibble at but usually leave plenty for my BN to enjoy...

isn't courgette actually Zucchini??

I've usually heard it used for a squash/cuke somewhat smaller than we'd call zucchini...but I guess it's closer to that than cucumber :)

I stand corrected..."small zucchini" ?

Pleco content: I target fed my pleco yesterday; dropped his discs down a tube placed next to his house. I didn't startle him with my hand, and the GF never knew it happened...so he got at least one to himself before the GF finally found 'em.

..my discus will munch on tabs..but they will get muscled out if the bn decides she wants it.
other wise I feed late when others are not active.
I also use sweet potato and zuks. I do not blanch the zuke but lightly blanch the tater.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It seems to be getting along fine so far. How much algae does a baby rubbermouth pleco need to survive? Can they live on algae alone?
