I have 4 mollies and my silver female molly is sick. She is swimming upside down and can't seem to hold her head up. She hasn't been eating for days and I've tried feeding her peas of which she hasn't eaten. I've done some research on the net and found out that she might have swim bladder problems. She is either at the top of the tank near the filter or at the bottom of the tank. When she tries to swim she swims without control.

I don't want her to suffer anymore and I want to know the best way to euthanize her without pain. I've heard of freezing her, putting her in almost frozen water and even putting her in alcohol such as vodka. I just want her to have the most painless possible death and would like to hear any suggestions.

Thank you very much

I froze my gourami when his time came. I just put him in a zip-lock bag with some water in it, sealed it, put it in the freezer.

There is going to be pain no matter which way you decide to do it. How much pain the fish will actually deal with is a matter that can be debated for years. I think freezing would be the worst way for the fish to go. The best way would probably be the clove oil method. Which ever way you do it the quicker the better.

i use the whack it over the head with a large blunt object method its quick and pretty painless if done very fast and acurate.
