How to humanely euthanize a fish?

This has been debated off an on quite often during the past year and month. What I've done is premix a DIY Co2 Soloution and attatch to a smaller tank, put fish in and turn on Co2. Fish will fall asleep and not wake up. Will pass in about 2.25 min on average... I dont know about other fish but when my mollies and other live bearers got problems...thats the method I would use..

really don't try all the complicated this and that, and the buy this or that.........just put it in a paper bag and drop something on it or use your foot what ever but i think the longer u put it off and in a way "plan" its dead the more it is gunna bug u!

I dont know about some...but i had a little chuckle reading all these suggestions....about choppin heads off and flushing them :joke: but im just curious about the clove oil...do u just out the fish in "it" or can u add it to its water (fish being in a bag of course) and i dont use any method posted... I have 2 ducks that would eat that mollie in less then a second. Seems the quickest.

There we are, just get a duck!

To those that are saying to flush a fish down the toilet, I think you should come up with something that is more humaine then that. Flushing the fish is just plain cruel. Maybe it doesn't bother you and think it is just a fish but it would bother me.

Hmmmm 7 cats 1 small fish. :joke:

i just chop its head off or drop a brick on it, they dont feel a thing if you do it right.

You don't add the fish to straight clove oil. You put a bit of clove oil in some tank water in a bag or container with a lid and shake your arm off because it really is hard to mix in, but it needs to be mixed well with the water and not just sitting on top. Then you put your fish in. The product by AP seems advantageous because it seems they've added something to eliminate the mixing problem.
