you could float a plastic container in the 10 with salt-free water in it. change the water before you go to bed and right away in the morning. put an airstone in if you have one. they should be fine overnight.

I don't have an airstone but what I did is change more than 50 percent of the water. They seem to be very active, the cat fish are digging into the gravel but they aren't swimming all over the place like awhile ago. I do plan on taking them back to the store.
