I keep a sponge running in the back corner of my main tank. Keeps it seeded, is cheap enough to replace if I use meds that can harm the inverts in my tank, plus adds a more BB surface area and filtration to my display. Don't really use it on sick fish though- Just a powerhead, heater, thermometer and lots of water changes on sick fish- use it to QT fish from new sources.
