How to keep plants alive?

I've got a huge tank, 180 gallons at least (I'm not 100% sure on the gallons, I got it from a friend at work, who'd inherited it with a house he bought). I have several different kinds of fish and plants, but I am having a hard time keeping my plants healthy. I have a single green myrio that alone seems to be flourishing, and while nothing else is out and out dying, it could be healthier. Is there anywhere I could get better lighting and plant supplies without breaking the bank? Any advice on good plant health? Anything would be appreciated, thanks.

Figure out what you have now - how many lights, their temperature (what color light they throw), how much wattage. Also, accurate measurements of your tanks dimensions. And maybe some water tests for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, hardness, and pH.
