how to know the weight of a tank ?

1 gallon weighs 8.6 lbs I think. We generally say 10 lbs per gallon as that makes up for the rocks, decorations, lights etc...

1 gallon = 3.78L...got that off of a gallon of milk..lol

Hope that helps

They must be big stones!:D

Stone is a unit of weight measurement not generally used in the United States. I'm not sure how much it is offhand however.

1 stone = 12pounds

We use the stone mesaurment quite alot in the UK imperial system.

Also if your dealing with uk gallons then..... 1gallon = 4.4 litres

Hope that helps :)

hi all,
big thanks for all your help i guessed at at being 18 stone so before i put the tank on the unit me and the other half sat on it and all was ok , the tank has been there for a week now and all is ok , thanks again

you guys are all wimps. just pick up the empty tank and stand on a bathroom scale, then have a buddy fill it with water from a garden hose. subtract your own weight from the reading and tada, the weight of your tank... that's how I did it with my 72 gal anyway.
